I got directed to your blog post by wordpress' related posts section, and I'm glad I read it.

"it’s deep and abiding joy." I have an older friend who lost her husband after 47 years of marriage. She said she didn't know how she was still able to feel joy even as her beloved husband was in a coma and then died, but she knew it had to be God. She couldn't explain it in terms that a worldly-minded person could understand, but she had joy in God even as she sorrowed and grieved over his death. The sorrow and joy were intermingled, and both were Godly responses to this tragedy (because Don died) and victory (because Don went to be with Jesus).

Thought provoking post.

Nurse Case Manager: I would try Kohl's and their "Lee" section. They've started carrying khakis that are a little more accommodating in the waist area, plus they've started handling slacks that have a little "give" built in.

My struggle is I cannot find pants that sit at the waist & aren't too fitted through the hips & thighs. Someone mentioned the after 40-weight gain...well, just wait for the after-50 change in shape! The middle gets thicker & no matter how many sit-ups you do, the middle just stays the same. I guess the only solution would be a starvation diet but that isn't gonna happen! Every tall womens clothing website shows slacks/trousers with longer inseams but they all sit low.....I went to Talbots the other week....every pant was low on the waist....the only pant that works is sweat pants! Can't wear those for work....at least there's comfort in knowing that there are others in the same boat..hopefully the fashion trends will swing back to pants that sit at the waist soon!!!!!

Ugh. I go through $2500 of FSA money in a few months. That's just enough for braces.

I don't know, DM. Honestly, I don't. I don't remember being that politically attuned when I was younger, but I do remember overhearing political discussions - mostly about local politics....

What still gets me is, as I heard on the radio this morning from Bart Stupek, the sheer numbers of representatives who believe they know better than we citizens do what is best for the whole country. He flat out said that he and the elected representatives - and he emphasized the word "elected" - knew better than we did what was best for the whole country (again, emphasis on the word "whole"), and that if we didn't like it, too bad.
