Happy Paczki Day!

Yes, it is Paczki Day here in Metro Detroit!    Honestly, it’s the only thing I celebrate about Lent, which is either a reflection on my true lack of spirituality or merely a nod to the temptation presented by these delicious treats.  Either way, it’s a wonderful day!
If you don’t know what a paczki [...]

Shhhh! I Got A Secret!

OK, not so secret now!
I have a new computer!!  YAY!  I also have a new desk to put it on!!  DOUBLE YAY!
I did my taxes early and got my tax refund and did my patriotic duty and spent a big chunk of it on a new computer.  (See how I justified that?)  It was a [...]

Strange and Stranger

Apparently, the last couple of days have been the universe’s message that all is not really right.  I base this conclusion on the following:
1.  I have the flu – really.  I got drugs for it, but I still have the flu.  Which means that, on a day when I really need to stay home and sleep, I [...]

Missing – FOUND!!

I am just sick today – I had my carpets cleaned on Saturday, partly because my mom is coming for a visit next week, and partly because they hadn’t been cleaned in a couple of years and were overdue.  I had to put Tanner into the basement while they did the upper floors, and then [...]

She made this as part of her 365 Days of Grace:

Go visit.  Enjoy.  [...]

This was particularly chilling (and interesting) to me, so of course I’m going to share it with you!  I’ll tempt you with the conclusion, so that you can go read the rest later:
“While the analysis represents a fundamentally flawed reading of the Constitution and of marriage law, that does not mean it won’t prevail among [...]

Good News!

I should have my new home computer by this Friday!!
I am SO excited!
Please note:  the last time I bought a new computer was in October of 2000.  Yep.  That’s right.  2000.  That’s, like, 162 in computer years.  My old computer still runs on Windows 98.
This new one will be just like the new one I [...]

NOW What?

Boring.  Yes.  But it’s back to my favorite topic, which is politics.
This quote from this morning’s inbox says it all:
“Dr. Robert Higgs, senior fellow at the Oakland-based Independent Institute, penned an article in The Christian Science Monitor (2/9/2009) that suggests the most intelligent recommendation that I’ve read to fix our current economic mess. The title [...]
